I was born in Turkey, a country that straddles two continents and is steeped in history and culture (and the best food.) However, my childhood was far from traditional. Growing up my family moved around a lot which meant that I changed schools frequently. As a result, I struggled to make friends and found myself having to develop a strong sense of independence and individualism early on.
Above I've attached a photo of me on my dads' motorbike. Interestingly enough he was knocked off that bike by a truck on two separate occasions. Luckily he was ok (only missing a small amount of his pinky finger š.) That was when he decided that he had enough of motorbikes.
Both my parents are incredibly hard workers and I owe them a lot! Especially my father; my love of business is no doubt due to the many business and finance discussions we have had over the years.
Here is a photo of my brother, mother and myself when we used to live in Turkey. Check that Liam Gallagher cut I had going on! I've had to promise my girlfriend that I would never have that again š. My mum is the best, hands down. She's that silent backbone in our family, always there, always supporting, and without her, things just wouldn't be the same. Seriously, I'm so grateful for her. I still remember the days I would come back home from school and she would have prepared a small snack bowl for me. It was only after friends of mine commented how nice that was for my mum to do that did I realise it was out of the ordinary.
It wasn't until I started connecting with people online that I found a sense of community and belonging. Through online forums, chat rooms and social media, I made friends from all over the world who shared my interests and passions. It was during this time that I discovered my love for programming and business. Throughout my adolescents I had a deep interest in business and programming. I would spend hours coding and building websites and I even started my own online business selling software and services.
At the age of 16 I started my first software business with the goal of competing with my online friends to help us all improve our programming skills. This was the result of my deep love for coding and I wanted to challenge myself and my peers to develop the best software possible. With my entrepreneurial spirit, I saw an opportunity to not only sharpen our coding skills but also create a profitable business. The project was a success and it was the beginning of my journey as an entrepreneur. This experience taught me valuable lessons on building a business, collaborating with others and the importance of having a clear vision.
When I moved to the UK, I started attending Loughborough University, reading in Politics, Philosophy and Economics of all things...I quickly realised that my passion for business, entrepreneurship and programming was stronger than my interest in academics. University wasn't a complete waste of time for me though, I met my lovely girlfriend and we've been together for three years now! The photo above is a photo of me and her we took the photo with the 0.5 lens on an IPhone. Don't worry, my forehead isn't that big!
I dropped out and started to pursue my dream of creating a platform that would make business accessible to everyone. That's how DealGate was born. The idea was simple: to create an easy-to-use platform that would allow anyone to generate leads for their business. But the execution was anything but simple. Building a platform from scratch is a monumental task and there were plenty of times when I thought I might not make it.
But I persevered, and today, I'm proud to say that DealGate is a thriving platform that has helped countless people start their own business. One of the biggest benefits of DealGate is its ease of use. Creating a business can be a daunting task but with DealGate most of the headache of generating leads is taken care of. The platform is intuitive and user-friendly, making it easy for even the most inexperienced entrepreneur to get started.
I believe that everyone has value to give through business. Business is a powerful way to make a positive impact on your own life, the people you love and the whole world . I'm grateful for the opportunity to help.
